I Will Let You In

I’ll let you in if you want
But I don’t think you’ll
Like what you find.
There is quite a lot

Of darkness and emptiness,
Quite a lot of pain and sorrow,
Mountains of misunderstood emotions
That have been cast aside.

There is a broken heart that
May not ever mend,
There are things about me
That you may not like.

I will let you in if you want
But I know you won’t like what you find.
A mess of a girl, who gave up to fast
On the one she loved the most,

The pain that she still feels
Even though it’s been so long,
The love and happiness that is sometimes
Hard to find but I
Welcome you to try if you so desire.

I will let you in if you want me to
But I pray that you can see past the worst
Parts of me in order to
Find the best parts.
