She Always Had Love

She has made mistakes in the past,
But considering everything in her life hasn’t always been great.
She isn't evil, heartless, or selfish,
She’s so shy and closed off because of everything in her life.

All her life she's felt like a disappointment,
She’s always felt second best; she's been deprived of love,
She spent years completely alone.
So don’t blame her for being who she is.

Some people aren’t meant to be saints or angels.
Some people have darkness in them,
And most people have a past that they are not proud of.
They are equally as good, bad, selfish and selfless as each other.

However when it came to him, she always made the right choices for him.
She always did what was best for him because she loved him,
She didn’t pretend to use him,
Or mess with his head.

What she felt for him was real?

She always saw the good that was in him.
She loves him as much as he loves her.
She admits that she does wrong,
And that she’s not perfect.

But all she has ever wanted was to protect him.

When it comes down to it,
It isn’t about what they can give you,
Or what they can do for you,
It’s about much more than that.

It’s about loving someone knowing that they are going to have flaws,
It’s about having someone in your life that makes you feel alive,
It’s about knowing what love really is.
It’s saving the one you love

Because you want them to go living
And have a happy and long life
Even if you’re not part of it.

Sometimes you have to lose someone
In order to know what you truly had,
And what you had lost.

Unfortunately in life that happens.
When you're young and vulnerable your heart falls for what's safe.
Then you get older and experience more
And you realize what you thought you wanted no longer is what you want.

She wanted someone in her life that made her want to be a better person,
So wanted someone to accept her for who she was.
Deep down she is sweet, caring, loving, honest, real and non-judgemental.
She wants no lies, or secrets,

But sometimes that happens,
Sometimes things happen that can’t be explained.
So you see why she’s closed off,
Do you see now that even though

She has had a tough past,
She still chose to love someone
Knowing that there was going to be bad times,
But looked forward to the good parts.

She always had love for everyone,
And everything in her life.
