I had a heart once
But it walked out
The same day you did.
And my lungs forgot to

Breathe in oxygen
Because the sent in the room
Reminded me of you.
My body became a shell

For a soul that was no longer living.
And my mind became a cage where
All of my thoughts were trapped
And only came when they wanted to hurt me.

Instead the words I tried to say ended up spilling
Out onto the floor causing cracks.
My lips forgot to utter words

Because you took my voice
With you.
My hands shake every time I try to touch another.
I feel like I am betraying you

Every time I look at him.
I used to feel alive
But all of my feelings have
Left me too.

All I have left are the memories
I will never get back.

The least you could have done was leave
Me a piece of you so I didn’t have
To feel this way.
The least you could have done

Was given me my heart back when you
Left me sitting there.
My body has taken far too many
Hits for it to be whole anymore.

This love would have been a masterpiece
But you took the paint brush
Before it was finished.
