Walls

The walls are breaking all
Around me and I don’t know
It I’ll be able to survive what’s
On the other side.

They have been breaking
For quite some time and
I don’t think I’ll be safe
When they come down.

I have been building these
Walls around my heart
For so long because I swore
That I would never get hurt again.

And now I find myself frightened
Of what is waiting for me on the other side.
I have spent far too long inside these walls.
Surrounded by their protection that

I am not sure I’ll make it out alive this time.
